This explains what Puppyweeks collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what we need to run a puppy journal with an AI helper, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything whenever you want.
Who's responsible
Puppyweeks is run by Andreas Jonsson (trading as Puppyweeks), based in Denmark — the "data controller" for your information. You can reach us at hello@puppyweeks.app.
What we collect
- Your email, and your name if you sign in with Apple — to create your account and sign you in. Signing in with Apple shares the name and email Apple gives us, which may be a private relay address if you choose to hide your email.
- Your puppy's profile — name, breed, size, and birthdate, so we can show the right developmental stage.
- Your journal entries — the notes you write about your puppy's day.
- Your Copilot chats — the messages you send and the replies you get.
- Basic usage analytics — which screens and features get used, so we can improve the app. Collected with PostHog, hosted in the EU.
- A push notification token — so we can send reminders and milestone alerts. You're in control: they follow the notification permission you grant iOS, and you can adjust or turn them off anytime in Settings.
- Subscription status — whether a puppy's caregiver group is on Puppyweeks Pro. One caregiver's purchase unlocks Pro for everyone invited to that puppy. Purchases go through Apple; we never see your card details.
How we use it
To run the service: show your journal and the right milestone content, power Copilot, send the reminders you asked for, keep your account working, and understand and fix problems. We don't use your data for advertising.
How Copilot uses AI
When you chat with Copilot, we send the relevant context — your puppy's profile, the current milestone content, and recent journal entries — to our AI provider, Anthropic, so it can generate a reply. Anthropic processes this to produce the response and does not use it to train its models. We never sell your entries or use them to train advertising.
Sharing with other caregivers
Puppyweeks Pro lets a puppy's owner invite up to three other caregivers to co-journal the same puppy. If you're invited (or you invite someone), the puppy's profile and journal entries are shared with everyone on that puppy — entries show who wrote them, and there's no way to keep an entry private from the group. Your Copilot chats are the exception: they stay private to you and are never visible to other caregivers. Only the puppy's owner can invite or remove caregivers.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Puppyweeks. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Supabase — database and account hosting (EU, Ireland region).
- Resend — sends account emails, such as your sign-in code.
- Anthropic — the AI behind Copilot; processes your chat context (US).
- PostHog — product analytics (EU).
- Apple — sign-in and subscription billing.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription status.
- Expo — delivers push notifications.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Where your data is processed
Puppyweeks is built to keep data in the EU where we can. Some providers (such as Anthropic) process data in the United States; where that happens, it's covered by standard data-protection safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Delete an entry and it's gone; delete your account and we remove your profile, journal, and chats. Some records — like a payment receipt held by Apple — may persist where the law requires.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can:
- see the data we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- get a copy to take elsewhere; or
- object to certain uses.
You can edit your puppy's profile, and delete your account and all its data, from the app's Settings. For a copy of your data or anything else, email hello@puppyweeks.app and we'll sort it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in Denmark, that's Datatilsynet.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, or email hello@puppyweeks.app and we'll do it for you.
Keeping it secure
Your data is encrypted in transit, access is protected by row-level security so you only ever see puppies you're a caregiver on — and only you ever see your own Copilot chats — and we limit who can touch it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.
Children
Puppyweeks is for adults — you must be 18 or older to use it. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and flag anything significant in the app.
